Freda Ann Hooks of Snow Hill, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional on January 1, 2021 from complications of COVID 19. She is preceded in death by her father, George Bounds, her mother, Vivian Bounds, her beloved daughter, Courtney Hooks and 2 of her brothers Larry and Mike Bounds. She will be greatly missed by the love of her life of 46 years, her husband Jimmy Hooks; her daughter Kachina Wells (Denny Jr.); and the two most precious people in her life, her grandchildren Samantha and J. Michael Wells. She is also survived by her brothers and their children, Brent Bounds (children Ron and Chrissy), Dale Bounds (child Jessica), Chester Bounds (children Shane and Jason) and Steve Bounds (child Amanda); as well as a multitude of friends and extended family that are left behind in the wake of her astonishing light. Freda was born in 1958 in Salisbury, MD at Peninsula General Hospital and was the only female of her 6 other siblings. A local at heart, she graduated Snow Hill High School in 1976. She and Jimmy raised a family and lived on what she called "God's Country" all their lives. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren; Samantha, who is a Senior this year at her alma mater Snow Hill High School, was the very root of her happiness and J. Michael who was very, very special to her in only a way that a grandson could be. She shared a special bond with each one of her family members and friends that made them feel special when they were just in her presence. Freda treasured life, could always find humor in the darkest of times, had a quick wit and she had a smile for everyone she ever met. She loved living life to the fullest, camping, campfires, her beloved trips to Disney World with her Princess and Prince of her very being. She was a lover of good music, sunrises, sunsets, long rides and visiting her beaches at Assategue and Chincoteague with her family and friends who became family. She measured wealth in friendship and laughter, lived her life like there was no tomorrow and loved with a passion that is already greatly missed. Due to COVID restrictions and for her loved one's safety there will no services at this time. Per her wishes Freda will be cremated and returned to her family.
