Fred B. Nichols,83, of Seaford, passed away on Sunday,April 8, 2018 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. He was born on March 27, 1935 in Delmar, Delaware a son of the late Howard B. and Mildred E. (Johnson) Nichols. Fred worked as an electrician with I.B.E.W. Local Union 313. One of his favorite pastimes was camping, fishing and crabbing with family at Assateague Island. He loved spending the winter months in Ft. Myers, Florida playing horseshoes, cards and sunbathing in the gulf. In addition, he enjoyed woodworking and helping family and friends. Fred enjoyed watching Orioles baseball and was a Redskins football fan. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce A. Nichols of Seaford; Daughters, Tamara Leigh Eckleberry (Dan) of Chester, WV and Terri Lynn Tice (Allen) of Seaford; Grandchildren, Kyle D. Eckleberry (Tabby), Katie E. Holland (Tyler), Troy A. Eckleberry (Megan), Jason A. Tice (Bobbi Jo), Jenna L. Absher (Chris); Great-grandchildren, Shawn Gamble, Kaleb Eckleberry, Aubree L. Wharton, Layne and Gracyn Eckleberry, Hayley Lawson and Lukas Tice; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Richard Nichols; and a sister, Ann Ring. Memorial services will be private.
