Franklin Stewart Herren, Jr., age 64, passed away at his home in Laurel, Delaware on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born on March 29, 1961, in Washington, DC, Franklin lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He found great joy in fishing, particularly the special moments spent by the water with his daughter. Those days were filled with laughter and connection that will forever be treasured. Franklin was also a proud cat owner to two adored companions, Garfield and Toothless, who brought him countless hours of joy. He leaves behind a loving family, daughters, Shirley Herren, Arrie Nelson, and Carrie Genua; brothers, Mark Baxter and James Herren; brother-in-law, Thomas Dickey, III. Franklin also cherished his relationships with his nieces and nephews, including, Awenita Hensley, Veronica Dickey, Tommiee Jean Dickey, Thomas Dickey, IV, Franklyn Dickey, Sr., and Cassandra Dickey; and many great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Herren, Sr. and Helene Biltcliffe Baxter; a daughter, Felicia Herren; brother, Ronald Baxter; and sisters, Deborah Dickey and Pamela Herren. Franklin's family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating his life at a graveside service scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hebron Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
