Obituary

Frank Jerome Steininger, 75, of Salisbury died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. He was born January 22, 1936 in Salisbury, a son of the late Carl and Alma Steininger. Mr. Steininger served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In his early years, he worked at various service stations in Salisbury, including Charles Mason's and Nelms & Kelly's. He worked for White and Leonard Office Equipment in Salisbury for 27 years, selling and servicing equipment for many schools and businesses on the Delmarva peninsula. He then went to work in production for Plymouth Tubing for 13 years. He was a loving husband and father, who was a wonderful provider for his family. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling with his friends from work. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice R. Steininger; a son, Dale Steininger and his wife Kathy of Hebron; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Ehrisman and her husband Douglas of Willards; four grandchildren, Michelle Lynn Prado and her husband Pete of Salisbury, Dale Steininger, Jr. of Hebron, Hannah R. Ehrisman of Salisbury, and Chelsea L. Ehrisman of Willards; six great-grandchildren, Kathylen Steininger, Henry James Steininger, Josie Lynn Parsons, Christine Prado, Anna Prado and Nakita Prado; a brother, George Steininger of Salisbury; a sister, Margaret Reid of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son James Allan Steininger, and four brothers, Joseph Howard Steininger, Charles Steininger, Carroll Steininger, and Everett Steininger. A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home, Delmar, where a funeral service will on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Oren Perdue will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association/Eastern Shore Chapter, 209C Milford Street, Salisbury, MD 21804.
