She was born on September 7, 1924 in Snow Hill, a daughter of the late Walter and Naomi (Figgs) Shockley. Taylor of Laurel, Roger Lee Mitchell and his wife Susan of Salisbury, and Brenda Seaton of Salisbury; grandchildren, Robert Edward Lewis, Debbie Leigh Lewis, Philip A. Taylor, Jr., Gail Lynn Charnick, Erin Frances Shockley, and Ingrid Marie Peterson; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved cat, "CC."
