F. A. Buddy Pollitt, 57, of Delmar, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Delmar Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 22, 1952 in Salisbury, a son of the late Fred W. Pollitt and Katherine Powell. Buddy owned Custom Coating Painting Company and after that he owned and trained Standard bred racehorses. He was best known for singing in various bands in the area, including Dallas & the D.J.'s and The Outcast. He had a great love of country music and playing his guitars. Buddy was gifted with many talents, including building country crafts, tables and wall décor. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren who he adored. He is survived by his daughter, Shady Lynn Pollitt and her companion, Rick Stoakley and their children who were the love of his life, Ivy, Lily and Summer Lynn; a son, Darren White, all of Salisbury; the mother of his children, Beverly Pollitt of Hebron; lifelong friends, Larry Richardson and Dallas Ruark; and a very special cousin, Sandy Benton of Princess Anne. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Pollitt and Thomas Powell. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar.
