DAGSBORO- Evelyn Louise Long, 93, of Dagsboro, and formerly of Dames Quarter and Anne Arundel County, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born in Dames Quarter on February 13, 1922, a daughter of the late John R. Bozman and Ada Grace (White) Bozman. Evelyn retired as a supervisor and senior accountant at Montgomery Wards in Baltimore after over 30 years of service. She was always very active in her community and was a member of the Lioness Club, the Red Hat Society, the American Legion Patrick Henry Post 34 in Brooklyn Park and the Delmar VFW Post 8276. She also attended the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She got the most pleasure spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Anne D'Annunzio and her husband, Al of Dagsboro; a son, William L. Long and his wife, Sharon of Pasadena; four grandchildren, Wendy Boylan and her husband, Chris, Jennifer Long, Christine Strong and her husband, Jeff and Amy Waters and her husband, Roger; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Noah, Ava, Luke and Lilly; and two sisters, Jean Bozman of Princess Anne and Norma Cugler of Delmar. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Long, who passed in 1995; three brothers, Howard Bozman, Glen Bozman and Al Bozman; and a brother-in-law, Charles "Buster" Bozman. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00. The Reverend Phyllis Walton will officiate. Following the service family and friends are invited to join Mrs. Long's family for food and fellowship at Camelot Hall of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. Interment will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements are being handled by Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
