Obituary

Esther Trader Shockley, 89, of Snow Hill, was called home by her Heavenly Father, whom she was a faithful servant to, for her eternal rest on Monday July 6, 2009 with her husband, daughters and granddaughters by her side. She was the daughter of the late Alpha G. & Pauline M. Trader. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Trader, a brother Joe Trader and brother-in-law Charlie Jackson. She is survived by her husband, A. Paul Shockley, her two daughters, Linda Shockley and Jean Lynch and her fiance Dale Evans, two granddaughters, Shelley Lynch and Tracy Lynch; her sister Mildred Jackson and brother David Trader and his wife Janet along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Esther worked early in her life, then devoted her life to raising her two daughters and assisted in helping raise her two granddaughters, who were the highlight of her life. She was a very loving Christian Mom and Mom-mom. She always gave her very best and sacrificed many times for the comfort of her family. Esther loved to sew and made several articles of clothing for her family when they were younger. She was an excellent cook and she enjoyed her gardening, canning and freezing. In addition, she was always willing to donate her time and helpful hand in many local community and church events. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 10, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bates Cemetery in Snow Hill. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Dept/ EMS, 4718 Snow Hill Rd. Snow Hill, MD 21863.
