Erica Lynn Young, 47, of Delmar, passed away peacefully at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Erica was born October 6, 1973 in Annapolis, a daughter of Gail L. Oursler of Delmar and the late Benjamin Lape Hopping, III. She graduated from Oak Hill High School in Ohio before earning her associate's degree from Wor-Wic Community College. She worked as a registered radiology technologist at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional for over 11 years. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved fishing, horseback riding and volleyball. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her step-father who raised her as his own daughter, Richard "Rick" B. Oursler, Jr.; a special aunt, Jan Hopping; cousins, Linda and Hilyard Harrison, Catherine Harrison, Craig and Rian Harrison and a special, loving cousin that was like her little sister, Laura Walker; a close, special friend, Michelle Bovera; and several aunts and uncles and other cousins. A celebration of Erica's life will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar.
