Obituary

Eloise Wright Morison, 86, of Delmar, died Monday, September 8, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born on the family farm in Delmar during a snowstorm, a daughter of the late George E. and Amy Ellis Wright. Her husband, Robert B. Morison, preceded her in death in 2005. She was a 1938 graduate of Mardela High School, and graduated in 1942 from the former Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College. After graduation, she taught science and math at Delmar Maryland High School and at Wicomico High School. Following marriage and a move to Baltimore, she taught at Roland Park Country School. Among Mrs. Morison's former students were retired U.S. Senator Paul Sarbanes and Joan Claybrook, chief of highway safety in the Carter Administration. Mrs. Morison was a former member and past president of The Women's Eastern Shore Society of Maryland and of the Gaywood Garden Club. She is survived by a son, Ridgely Morison and his wife Renee Hunter Morison of Delmar; a sister, Norma Dew, of St. Augustine Beach, Florida; a niece, Elizabeth Ator and her family; and a nephew, Edward Dew and his family. At the request of Mrs. Morison, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
