Elnora Layfield Truitt, 90, of Seaford, DE, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022. She was born and raised in Delmar, a daughter of the late William R. Layfield and Lillie Agnes Layfield. Elnora (Agnes) graduated from Delmar High School. She was a laboratorian for Dupont, retiring after 42 years. She attended Cannon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and friends in her earlier years. She bowled competitively in a local league and was very active in serving the community in the Order of the Eastern Star. Aggie was well known for her rice pudding and dumplings. She is survived by her grandchildren, who she absolutely adored, Ashley Hopkins (Russell) of TX and Matthew Truitt (Mary Cathryn) of TN; daughter-in-law, Susan Truitt of TN; great grandchildren, Ben Hopkins and Charley Truitt; and brother, Clark Layfield (Karen) of Delmar. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce B. Truitt; son, Bruce B. Truitt, Jr.; brother, William Layfield (Virginia); and sisters, Ruth Ann Hoover (Don) and Pauline Winters, (John). The family will have a private graveside service.
