SALISBURY- Ellen Jean Ehrisman, 80, of Salisbury, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 26, 2016. She was born June 5, 1935 in Hebron, a daughter of the late William Edward Wilkins and Agnes B. (Adkins) Wilkins. In 1953 Ellen started her career in bookkeeping for Sweetheart Baking Company and stayed until retirement in 2000. She was an active member of SonRise Church in Berlin. Ellen loved music and had a beautiful singing voice and shared her gift of music with many as she sung with the Sweet Adelines, Ocean Bay Chapter for over 25 years. She was known by many for her contagious smile and big bear hugs. Many will remember her huge collection of decorative pigs and her fondness for the movie "E.T." She is survived by her husband, John Edward "Ed" Ehrisman, Jr.; a son, Douglas Edward Ehrisman (Rebecca) of Willards; a daughter, Nancy Ellen Alvarado (Boli) of Salisbury; grandchildren, Ronnie White of Salisbury, III, Hannah Ehrisman of Delmar, Chelsea Ehrisman of Willards, Cody Dennis of Salisbury, Julia Granados Dennis of Delmar and Becky Cacace, NY, and Pete Dennis of Ocean City; six great grandchildren, Josie, Bubba, Liliana, Gabriel, Brayden, and Tristan; sisters, Janice Lewis (Wilmer, Jr.) and Marie Wilkins; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bill Ehrisman. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Daryl McCready will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Powellville Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship for family and friends will be held immediately following the interment.
