SALISBURY-Ellen Mae Bradford, 50, of Salisbury, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury after a courageous battle with heart disease and diabetes. She was born December 7, 1965 in Salisbury, a daughter of David P. Bradford of Berlin and the late Mary Lola O'Grady Bradford. She is survived by her fiancé and companion of 28 years, Gene W. Collins; children, Phillip Bradford of Seaford, Amber Bradford of Princess Anne, Genetta Bradford of Salisbury and Michelle Collins of Salisbury; eight beloved grandchildren, Adriana, Jordan, Autumn, Cameron, Brajon, Paris, Donte and Donlonte; and a sister, Valerie Lynn Dryden and husband, Woody of Laurel. She is also survived by her grandmother, Gertrude Bradford and several cousins, extended family members and close friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Anna Mae and Newland O'Grady and Walter Bradford. Ellen was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School. She enjoyed helping others and worked many years as a CNA and a caregiver. She was an avid reader and liked to work with her hands yarning and making things to share with those she loved. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:00 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pittsville Cemetery.
