Elizabeth "Betsy" Justis Palmer, 85, of Laurel, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided for the past three years. She was born and raised in Pocomoke, a daughter of the late Winston Justis and Willye V. (Berry) Taylor. Betsy graduated from Pocomoke High School with the class of '56 and attended Goldey-Beacom Business School for several years. She retired after many years of service as an administrative assistant at the Berlin Nursing Home, a job she truly loved. Betsy's true passion was her family and she loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Munoz and husband, Barry of Laurel; a son, Robert David Palmer of Florida; grandchildren, Jason Munoz (Ashley), Seth Munoz (Brittany), and Nicholas Munoz; great grandchildren, Carys, Brooke, Colin, Mila and Jaxon; a sister, Shirley Harmon of Pocomoke; and a lifelong best friend, Georgia Ann Scrivo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Justis, Walter Carroll Justis and Robert Justis; and a sister, Mary Grace Trader. A celebration of Betsy's life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Laurel Fire Department, Ambulance Fund, 205 W. 10th Street, Laurel, DE 19956.
