Obituary

LAUREL- Eleanor Pearl Hodgson, 72, of Laurel, formerly of Glen Burnie and Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was born on May 2, 1945 in Miami, Florida, a daughter of Ruth D. Crisler of Upperco, Maryland and the late Thomas Charles Crisler. Eleanor stayed at home for many years to raise her family. She enjoyed making jewelry, crocheting and sewing and made baby blankets that she shared with friends and family. With a needle and thread, Eleanor could make or fix almost anything. She was a former member of Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City, Maryland. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Charles E. Hodgson; daughters, Karen Hooper (Aaron) of Mardela Springs, Maryland and Amy V. Haynes (James) of Laurel, Delaware; grandchildren, Nathan and Mackenzie; brothers, Tommy Crisler of Monkton, Maryland and Terry Crisler (Susan) of Berryville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and her best buddy, her dog "Buffy." A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour to the service. In memory of Mrs. Hodgson, contributions may be sent to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org.
