Eileen Marie Bennett, 89, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 1, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 7, 1932, in Snow Hill, a daughter of the late McGuire D. and Martha Irma (Godfrey) Bolen. Eileen graduated from Snow Hill High School with the class of '49. In her earlier years she worked as a seamstress at several shirt factories. She then went on to manage the family-owned Bennett Mobile Home Park and loved working alongside of her husband Bill as the owner and operator of Bennett Airport in Salisbury. She had a talent for sewing and enjoyed making clothing for her family and friends. She was a member of countless organizations including the Antique Automobile Club of America and Eastern Shore Seagulls, where she loved gathering with friends at campgrounds for weekends. Eileen is survived by her daughters, Jean Bennett of Salisbury and Judy Bennett of Fruitland; grandchildren, Holly Green (Scott),Kyle Kinnamon (Lindsay), John Kinnamon (Kelly) and Melinda Bonnewell; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Bolen (Vera) of Snow Hill; sisters, Shirley Shockley of Snow Hill and Margaret Hastings (Jim) of Willards; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Janet Bennett of Fruitland; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard William "Bill" Bennett, Jr; a daughter, Jacqueline White; a grandson, Billy White; sisters, Rita Travers and June Morris (Jack); son-in-law, Newton White; and a brother-in-law, Walter "Bud" Shockley. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, "Bud." A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. The Reverend Howard Travers will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5120 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
