Edward Lee "Eddie" Watson, 76, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born on June 21, 1944 in Chincoteague, Virginia, the son of the late Harvey and Elaine Watson. In his early years, Eddie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He began his career working for Preston Trucking, before going on to own several businesses of his own. Those businesses included Ace Motor Company, Eden Auto Center, and Eddie's Towing, as well as having many residential rentals. Prior to his retirement, he drove a tow truck for Hans Auto and Truck Clinic. He loved his John Deere tractor and enjoyed clamming and crabbing with his family. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Delmar for several years. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Watson; son, Bryan G. Watson (Donna); stepchildren, Cassey Lankford (Will), Carol Ann Lankford, Crystal Johnson (Travis), and Clayton Bennett (Tricia); grandchildren, Andrew Watson (Tiffany), Colton Lanham, Samantha Lanham, Stevie Lanham (Taylor), Kristin Ott, Alex Collins, Courtney Eskridge, Aubrey Pete, Autumn Bennett, Desmond Walker, Blake Bennett and many more step-grandchildren; great granddaughter, Marlena Watson; and two step great-grandchildren, Kash Pete and Waylon Lanham. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Faith Baptist Church in Delmar. Pastor Ken Johnson will officiate.
