Edward Lex Maloney, 60, of Delmar, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was born July 24, 1962, in Salisbury, the youngest of 7 children to the late Edward Michael Maloney and Eileen McSweeney Maloney. Lex grew up in Delmar and graduated from Delmar High School with the class of 1980, where he lettered several years on the varsity baseball and basketball teams. After high school he attended Salisbury University. His love for sports involved coaching Delmar PeeWee basketball and he was a diehard, faithful fan of Notre Dame football, the Baltimore Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. He was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Delmar. Lex had a huge heart for family and will be remembered for the nicknames he gave all those he loved. (Lana) Maloney; sisters-in-law, Dianne Maloney and Jean Maloney; in-laws, Junior and Mary Ruth Evans; and brother-in-law, Buddy (Laura) Evans.
