Edward Layton, 87, of Laurel, passed away at home on April 12, 2024. He was born in Laurel on January 11, 1937, the son of Larry and Catherine. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1955. He worked with his wife for over 38 years at their Laurel car business. Edward was a proud member of the American Legion Post 19, where he served in various positions. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, and two daughters; Susan Layton and Janice Layton. Edward is survived by his daughter, Sherie Hudson and her husband Nathan, along with his grandchildren Angie Layton (Tony), Scott Hudson (Kimberley), and Ashley Stanfield (Michael), along with several great-grandchildren. All services and interment will be held privately. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar, Delaware.
