DELMAR- Edith Longacre Yoder, 89, of Delmar, formerly of Snow Hill, died December 1, 2010 in Fairchild, WI, at the home of a daughter, surrounded by family. She was born February 23, 1921 in Spring City, PA, a daughter of the late Horace and Anna Kolb Longacre. Edith accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in her youth and continued faithfully in the Mennonite church. At her death, she was a member of Salisbury Mennonite Church in rural Delmar. On October 23, 1943, Edith was married to David D. Yoder of Westover, MD. They enjoyed 63 years of life together. He preceded her in death in 2007. Edith is survived by 8 children; Anita Knepp and spouse, Willie of Lake Butler, FL, Marlin Yoder and spouse, Esther of Partridge, KS, Karen Good of Delmar, DE, Janet Brunk and spouse, Wendall of Resaca, GA, Betty Gascho and spouse, Ronald of Deer River, NY, Martha Rhodes and spouse, Kenneth of Fairchild, WI, Judith Kurtz and spouse, Edwin of Ephrata, PA and Rachel Alexander of Delmar, DE. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Margaret Benner, Mabel Nigh, Lillian Strunk, her twin sister, Esther Longacre and Anna Pearl Hostetler; and a granddaughter, Joanna Gascho. Friends may call on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Salisbury Mennonite Church on Pepperbox Road in Delmar. Funeral services will be held at the church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Pastors Alvin Mast, Marlen Schlabach and Sam Petersheim will officiate.
