Edith Mae Winfree, 89, of Delmar, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Delmar Manor. She was born on October 4, 1925 in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Kirk and Nancy Teague. Mrs. Winfree was a member of the Delmar VFW Post 8276 Ladies Auxiliary, Laurel American Legion, and the Eastern Star in Newark, Delaware. She is survived by three daughters, Pat Disharoon (Fred) of Delmar, Sue Walls (Neal) of Delmar, and Debbie Johnson (Bunky) of Laurel; grandchildren, Rick Disharoon (Sherry), Dawn Rothermel (Dan), Chuck Distler (Colleen), Nancy Distler (Dave Kinnikin), Corey Johnson (Lisa), Binky Johnson and Josh Johnson (Kate); great grandchildren, Ryan Disharoon (Amber), Jaclyn Disharoon, Mollie Hearne (Cody Thompson), Whitney Ewell (Eric), Zoe Rothermel, Bay Rothermel, Vicki Distler, Joel Distler, Opal Kinnikin, Paul West, Jaime Johnson, MacKenzie Johnson, Skyler Johnson, Logan Johnson, MaKayla Johnson, Tristen Johnson, Blake Johnson, Josh Johnson, Jr., Cameron Allen and Kasidy Allen; great great grandchildren, Colin Brandner, Lucas Ewell, and Charleigh Ewell; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wyatt Stewart Winfree, and two brothers, Rudolph and Victor Teague. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Phyllis Walton will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
