BALTIMORE- Earl Allen "Mac" McDonald, 62, of Baltimore, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at his home in Galestown on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He was born June 16, 1950 in Overton County, Tennessee, a son of the late Cloyd Earl McDonald and Myrtle Gertrude (Finley) McDonald. Mac retired as Petty Officer First Class in the United States Navy after 20 years of service. His love of photography started in the Navy and led him to work for 23 years as a photographer for the National Archives Department. in Washington, DC and as a freelance photographer as well. He was a member of the A.F. & A.M. Potomac Lodge #5 and the Scottish Rite Temple, where he earned his 33rd degree. He had an affinity for fire arms and air guns and was a lifelong motorcyclist. He is survived by his wife, Elissa O'Loughlin; a daughter, Phaedra L. Spencer of Marion Station, MD; a son, Jason A. McDonald of Highland, Maryland; 3 grandchildren, Van, Olivia and Phoebe Spencer; and a brother, Bruce McDonald (Marlene) of Overton County, Tennessee. He is also survived by 2 nieces. Services will be held at a later date.
