Earl S. Harrington, Jr., 80, of Laurel, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 6, 1934, the son of the late Earl S. Harrington, Sr. and Nina Hicks Harrington. Earl was a 1954 graduate of Delmar High School. He was an outstanding football player for the wildcats, and was offered a college scholarship for his athletic abilities. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He went on to work for the Dupont Company in Seaford, and also spent many years farming. He was a member of the Sharptown Lions Club and the Sharptown Fire Department. He spent many years volunteering at the drink stand at the carnival grounds in Sharptown. He was like a second father to many of his nieces and nephews, and will be remembered for being a wonderful brother and uncle. He is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Dickerson of Sharptown, Shirley Forse of Delmar, and Mary Jane Davenport and her husband Ronald of Delmar; three nieces, Patricia Goslee, Teresa Dickerson, and Wendy Shores; five nephews, Michael Dickerson, Wayne Forse, Terry Forse, Dale Forse, and Greg Forse; and other great nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Firemen's Cemetery in Sharptown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Sharptown Fire Department, P.O.
