Obituary

Doyal Edward "Tex" Lovett, 66, of Delmar, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his home in Delmar. He was born September 28, 1946 in Cape Charles, VA, a son of the late John A. Lovett and Christine Barnett Lovett. Tex was a skilled carpenter and worked for the Carpenters Union in Seaford, Salisbury and Oklahoma, where he lived for 15 years. He was former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Seaford and Salisbury. As an outdoorsman, Tex enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger days. More recently he loved to garden and loved his animals, especially small dogs. He is survived by his friend and caregiver, Janice Lovett; 3 brothers, Ralph Lovett of Oregon, Jack Lovett of Georgetown, DE and Larry Lovett of Alabama; a sister, Carol Meloney of Seaford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Vestle Lovett; and a sister, Joyce Coggins. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a graveside service, which begins at 11:30 at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
