Dorothy E. Smith, 94, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. She was born in Delmar, Delaware on September 11, 1913, a daughter of the late Ira L. Wilson and Delia E. Parsons Wilson. Mrs. Smith worked as a seamstress for Banks and Pusey Garment Company in Delmar for 37 years. She was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Delmar. She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra S. Perdue and her husband Philip and Susan S. Parks and her husband James, Jr., of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Janet Brooks, Donna Smith and her husband Bruce, Raymond Perdue, and Kevin Perdue; three great grandchildren, K.C., Holly Brooks and Jessie Smith; a half brother, Robert L. Wilson of Newark, DE; and a half sister, Evelyn V. Horseman of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Leslie Smith in 1980; a brother, Jay Wilson; and a special friend, Merle Hearn. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove Street in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
