LAUREL- Dorothy "Dot" Holt Dolby, 82, of Laurel, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born September 21, 1928 in Chester, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Fred and Geraldine Clark Holt. Dot graduated from Laurel High School before marrying her sweetheart, Harvey, with whom she enjoyed 65 wonderful years of marriage. While she worked various jobs in her earlier years, her most important work was raising her family of five children. She was a devoted member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Laurel where for many years she served as the "Kitchen Witch" and the "good shepherd", always helping feed and nurture friends who were sick or in need. For many years she also served as the President of St. Philip's E.C.W. Ladies Group. Her smile and kind ways will be missed by her family and by so many friends at St. Philip's Church, the community of Laurel and the Monday breakfast club at the Delmar Diner. She is survived by her husband, Harvey L. Dolby; a daughter, Dolly D. Thompson and her husband, Russel of Taylor's Island; three sons, Steve M. Dolby and his wife, Debbie, Jeffrey Dolby and his wife, Wendy and William David Dolby and his wife, Sharon, all of Laurel; 8 grandchildren, Ronnie, Renee`, Laurie, Jason, Matthew, Caitlin, Lindsay and Gregory; and four great grandchildren, Tyler, Jordyn, Laurel and Travis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Lee Dolby; and a sister, Norma Walmsley. A celebration of Dot's life will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 600 S. Central Avenue in Laurel. The Reverend Dr. Howard Backus will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium following the services. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Philip's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 600 S.
