Donna E. Tingle, 49, of Salisbury, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore due to injuries sustained in an accident. Donna graduated from the Physician Assistants program at Essex Community College in 1983 and also attended Harford Community College. She then served her postgraduate surgical residency at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore. She was currently employed with Dr. John Bartkovich of Peninsula Surgical Group in Salisbury, where she has worked since 1989 as a Surgical Physician Assistant-Certified. She had hospital privileges at PRMC and Chesapeake Surgery Center, both in Salisbury. She was certified with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and a member of the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants (MAPA) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She devoted her life to helping others and was an avid member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury where she would attend mass every morning before going to work with her special church community. She also enjoyed volunteering with her friends at the Art Institute and Gallery (AIG) She is survived by her mother, Bernadine (Gunzleman) Bernhardt of Jarrettsville, MD; a sister, Debbie Knight and her husband Wilson Knight, Jr.; and a godchild, Wilson Knight, III. She is also survived by her beloved dog "Clancy," close friend Theresa Trader of Delmar, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Gunzleman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Riverside Drive, Salisbury, MD. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
