Donald C. Wasser, 97, of Salisbury, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born February 20, 1914, in Dayton, Ohio, a son of the late Henry and Helen Wasser. Mr. Wasser owned "Dockside Sales", a chain of retail stores, with the main store located in Alexandria, Virginia. He also started a dancing club in his garage entitled "The Green Door" where folks would come and enjoy ballroom dancing. He is survived by five children, D. Bradley Wasser of California, Rebecca Chappelle of Salisbury, Ingrid Meadows of Virginia, Kurt Wasser of Washington, and Adrienne Showker of California; ten grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Wasser, and a brother, Vernon Wasser. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
