Donald M. Sauder, 75, of Laurel, Delaware and formerly of Elkridge, Maryland, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his home in Laurel. He was born October 25, 1939 in Tampa, Florida, a son of the late J. Paul Sauder and Alice Shenk Sauder. Don enjoyed his work as a skilled tile mechanic for Lee Anderson Tile in Howard County for 35 years. In 1995 he started the Don Sauder Tile Company and ran it until his retirement in 2005. He was formerly a member of the Guilford Road Mennonite Church in Jessup, Maryland, where he served as a Deacon from 1970 to 2005. After moving to Laurel in 2005 he became a faithful member of the Greenwood Mennonite Church. He was an avid reader, a wonderful cook and loved camping and watching Jeopardy. He will be missed and remembered for his dedication to his church and his family. He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Myrtle Biller Sauder; four children, Steve Sauder (Becky) of Mercersburg, PA, and their children, Brandon, Ryan and Zachary; Sue White of Woodbine, MD and her son Michael; Karen Lapp (Mike) of Gap, PA and their children, Emily, Ellen and Kelly, and Lorie Gordon (Walt) of Delmar, DE and their children, Philip, Alexander, and Cassie; a sister, Anne Siegrist (Donald) of Jasper, NY; and a brother, Joseph Sauder (Geneva) of Ellicott City, MD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and John Sauder; and a son-in-law, Matthew White. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 at the Greenwood Mennonite Church, followed by a funeral service which begins at 2:00.
