Dolores M. Patilla, 84, of Delmar, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her home in Delmar, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 18, 1930 in Baltimore, a daughter of the late Wilbert Dean, Sr. and Nellie Dean. Dolores worked a number of years in her younger days at Playtex in Harrington. She retired after many years of service as the head of housekeeping at Holiday Inn in Salisbury. Years ago she attended First Baptist Church of Delmar. She was an excellent cook who loved to feed family and friends and was best known for her chocolate chip cookies. Her basket collection was one of her pride and joys and she also enjoyed crafts, sewing and ceramics. Camping was always a favorite activity and she also enjoyed sharing her cooking with her camping neighbors. She is survived by her husband, with whom she shared a wonderful 34 years, Leo P. Patilla; 4 children, Joyce Donoway of Delmar, Stanley R. Pete, Sr. and Judy of Salisbury, Jeff Patilla of Delmar and Kelly Bayly and Bobby of Laurel; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Pete, Sr. who passed in 1964, a son, Eugene Pete, Jr., a brother and 4 sisters. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Short funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00. The Reverend Joe Lecates will officiate. Interment will follow in Dorchester Memorial Park in Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
