LAUREL- Deborah "Debbie" Faye Banhegyi, 60, of Laurel, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born November 11, 1952 in Salisbury, a daughter of the late Norman and Miriam Wilkinson. Debbie was a proud homemaker, wife and mother who made it her life's work to raise and care for her family. She loved trips to the beach and making special memories with her family. Flowers and redbirds were some of Debbie's favorite things and she enjoyed shopping trips to the outlets. She is survived by the love of her life, Peter D. Banhegyi, her husband of 43 years; five daughters, Tracy Ward (Augustus), Delores Humphrey, Danielle Smart (Russell), Jamie Tyler (Joel) and Paige White (Alton); a brother, Rodriquez Wilkinson (Diana); a sister, Denise Shrewsbury (Ricky); a sister-in-law, Barbara Wilkinson; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, Norman and Troy Wilkinson; two sisters, Delores Wilkinson and Patricia Scribner; and a great grandson, Blake Millar. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00.
