It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David William Malinger, Sr. of Delmar, who left us peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on October 1, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, Dave lived a full and vibrant life, ultimately settling in Delmar, Maryland. He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for his loving nature as a husband, father, and friend. He was a US Air Force veteran, having served in England where he met his wife. Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Jean May Malinger, his four sons: Carl, David, Gene, and Alan Malinger, seven granddaughters, one grandson, four great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, and his chess buddy, Truman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaza and Genevieve Malinger. In honoring Dave's wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, his family invites everyone who knew and loved him to remember the good times shared. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
