David Allen Calloway, 51, of Mardela Springs, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, surrounded by his family and friends. David was born April 3, 1961 in Seaford, a son of William and Jeanette Calloway. He was known for always having a smile on his face. He was a lifelong farmer, poultry grower for Mountaire Farms, commercial fisherman, trapper and hunter and good friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Becky; the proud father of 3 sons, DJ, Dustin and Dylan; a brother Tommy Calloway, a sister Nancy Pope and Craig, a sister-in-law, Denise Calloway; many nieces and nephews who brought more joy to him than anyone could ever imagine; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by a brother Clayton Calloway. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, and also on Friday from 11:00 to 12:00, followed by a funeral service which begins at 12:00 noon. The Reverend Donna Hinkle and David Mister, Lay Speaker, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mardela Memorial Cemetery. Contributions in memory of David may be made to Mt.
