Darryl Lee Bell, 74, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury. He was born on December 31, 1949, in Salisbury, MD, a son of the late Kenneth Bell and Eliza Jane (Yannacci) Bell. Darryl served his country in the U.S. Army with honor during the Vietnam War as a large engine mechanic. After his military service, he pursued a career as a truck driver, a profession he excelled in for many years. A lover of cars, Darryl had a passion for antique vehicles and often participated in car shows, proudly displaying his prized possessions to fellow enthusiasts. He could also be found riding his motorcycle, enjoying the freedom of the open road. Darryl will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 48 years, Wanda Whaley Bell; his daughter, Gwyn Bell; grandson, Sullivan Bell; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Holly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Bell. A visitation to honor Darryl's memory will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where friends and family can gather and share stories.
