Darlene Jean Poole-Horseman, 65, of Delmar, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born on July 3, 1950 in Wilmington, a daughter of Myrtle Poole and the late Clarence Poole. Darlene was a mom to many and a grammie to many more. She loved her 30 plus years of work in nursing including Dove Pointe and Thomas & Thomas in Salisbury and will be missed as a great teacher and advisor. Education was very important to her, no matter her age, as she recently earned her bachelor's degree from Salisbury University. Her family and friends will remember her as someone who had a heart for others. She is survived by her mother, Myrtle Poole; her children, Henry David, Jeremy and his wife Dana, April and her husband Michael, Ronda and Stacy; grandchildren, Lauren, Christopher, Daniel, Savana, Jordan, and Sara; and the love of her life, Steve Horseman. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
