Daniel L. Green, 65, of Delmar, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Mr. Green was born March 9, 1944 in Georgia to the late Garfield and Willie Veta Green. He retired from Allen Foods in Harbeson after ten years of service. He was an avid sports fan. Daniel was a member of the Masonic lodge, where he received the highest degree. He was a Christian man, and had a great knowledge of the bible. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Green; six sons, Frederick Green, Daniel L. Green, Jr., Eric Green, Carlos Green, Cornelius Green and Alton Lewis; step children, Rufford Enos, Rose Fraser, Luretta Alexander, Barry Thomas, Jr., Terry Thomas Jackson, Joyce Thomas and Ernest Thomas; 46 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four brothers, Garfield Green, Willie G. Green, Lester Green, and Curtis Green; six sisters, Ethel Green, Georgia L. Bush, Vickie Green, Linda Leveston, Sharyl Green, and Angela Green; mother-in-law, Mattie Enos; and a very close friend and son-in-law, Dwight Jackson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and brothers and sisters in law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two son-in-laws, Ricky Alexander and Rudolph Fraser. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove Street in Delmar. Burial will be held on Monday in Georgia.
