He was born February 19, 1942 in Salisbury, a son of the late Oland Evans and his wife, Gladys and Evelyn Griffin Moore and her husband, Thomas, who raised him as his own. Dale graduated from Laurel High School with the class of 1960. Immediately following graduation he entered the military and proudly served 4 years in the US Air Force. Flying small airplanes was Dale's passion and he learned to fly at the age of 16 and earned his pilot's license when he turned 18. In his younger days he was an avid golfer and a member of Nutters Crossing Golf Club in Salisbury. He also enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and boating.
