Obituary

D. Randall Sprenkle, 94, of Milton, formerly of Delmar, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at Renaissance Health Care of Millsboro. He was born August 10, 1914 in Oxford, Pennsylvania, a son of the late John Franklin Sprenkle and Kathryn (Thorn) Sprenkle. In 1979 Randall retired from James Julian, Inc as a Crain Operator, a job he loved for 31 years. He has been an active member of Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Salisbury for 30 years. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Sprenkle, and her children; a daughter, Shirley A. Gregory and her husband, Lloyd of Salisbury; six grandchildren, Stephen Peigh of Tennessee, Sharon Carter of Savannah, Georgia, Daniel Peigh of Savannah, Georgia, Larry Peigh of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Cheryl Gregory and Randy Gregory of Salisbury; and 9 great grandchildren, Chad, Austin, Kate, Stephanie, Mollie, Peyton, Miles, Aiden and Logan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred C. Sprenkle, who passed in 1987, a daughter, Ruth S. Peigh, two brothers and three sisters. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Salisbury, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Joel Beiler will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.
