Obituary

Clinton H. Brumbley, 78, of Delmar, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born August 14, 1932 in Salisbury, Maryland, a son of the late Roland and Susie (Bailey) Brumbley. Clinton proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member and past-commander of the Delmar VFW Post 8276. He worked for Glat Felter Pulpwood for over 20 years and managed the Delmar Drive-In for many years. He enjoyed being an active part in his community and enjoyed many years spent as a Cub Scout Leader. He had a love for horses and was a member of the Delmarva Horsemen's Association. He will be remembered by many as a loving and caring father. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Virginia Brumbley; three sons, Clinton Michael Brumbley of Mardela Springs, Mark Charles Brumbley and Timothy Roland Brumbley, both of Laurel; two daughters, Lisa Tilghman of Salisbury and Eva Malone of Delmar; seven grandchildren, Clinton Breasure, Mitchell Byrd, Timothy Brumbley, Amanda Brumbley, Eugene Brumbley, Cameron Malone and Benjamin Brumbley; a brother, David Brumbley of Seaford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Brumbley, Charles Brumbley, Genevieve Joseph and Patricia Messenger. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Everett Lecates will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Smith Mills Cemetery in Delmar. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 1021 Gilpin Avenue, Suite 202, Wilmington, DE 19806. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
