Clinton H. Brumbley, 78, of Delmar, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born August 14, 1932 in Salisbury, Maryland, a son of the late Roland and Susie (Bailey) Brumbley. Clinton proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a lifetime member and past-commander of the Delmar VFW Post 8276. He worked for Glat Felter Pulpwood for over 20 years and managed the Delmar Drive-In for many years. He enjoyed being an active part in his community and enjoyed many years spent as a Cub Scout Leader. He had a love for horses and was a member of the Delmarva Horsemen's Association. He will be remembered by many as a loving and caring father. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Virginia Brumbley; three sons, Clinton Michael Brumbley of Mardela Springs, Mark Charles Brumbley and Timothy Roland Brumbley, both of Laurel; two daughters, Lisa Tilghman of Salisbury and Eva Malone of Delmar; seven grandchildren, Clinton Breasure, Mitchell Byrd, Timothy Brumbley, Amanda Brumbley, Eugene Brumbley, Cameron Malone and Benjamin Brumbley; a brother, David Brumbley of Seaford; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Brumbley, Charles Brumbley, Genevieve Joseph and Patricia Messenger. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Everett Lecates will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Smith Mills Cemetery in Delmar.
