Obituary

SALISBURY- Clifford Russell Hall, 92, of Salisbury, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 31, 1925 in Salisbury, a son of the late Littleton F. and Mary Lewis Hall. He was predeceased by his first wife, Georgia C. Hall (d.1980) and his second wife, Sandra J. Hall (d.2016) and 7 siblings. Clifford served his country in the US Army during WWII (1944-1946). He graduated from Wicomico High School in 1948. He worked for the US Postal Service in Salisbury as a clerk, a career that lasted for 41 years and a day. He was an active, faithful, founding member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Salisbury. He never met a stranger and will be missed by many for his sense of humor and his ability to tell a story. Clifford truly cherished all of his family. A product of the Great Depression, he knew the value of hard work and was always appreciative of all of his blessings. He is survived by daughters, Barbara Ruark (Greg) of Delmar and Beth Hall of Salisbury; 3 grandchildren, Catherine McClain (Mike), Russell Ruark (Ashley) and Jennifer Ruark; 6 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ayden, Kyla, Micah, Brooke and Garrett; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Salisbury, visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Kevin Wackett will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Bethany Lutheran Church, 817 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
