Clayton D. Cugler, 91, of Delmar passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born September 24, 1922, in Crisfield, Maryland, a son of the late William and Elsie Cugler. Clayton or "Sarge," as he was fondly known by family and friends, was a Pearl Harbor survivor and World War II Veteran. Sarge loved fishing, gardening, making furniture and making toys for children. Sarge was a proud member of the VFW, a good role model and an outstanding father and grandfather. He is survived by a son, Walter G. Cugler (Vicki) of Mancos, CO; a daughter, Mary F. Loscomb of Killeen, TX; a sister, Doris Tull of Salisbury; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna K. Cugler; a son, Michael Cugler; and several brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank Teresa Abbott, his caretaker for five years, for taking such good care of him and making his last days happy. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
