Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Christian Blair Reid, a loving son, father, brother, and more. A talented musician who brought so much laughter and love to his family and friends. Christian, born on May 12, 1977, in Salisbury, Maryland, peacefully left this world on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury. Chris attended Washington High School, where he excelled at making friends and bending rules. He was a free spirit. He was a gifted guitarist and loved jamming with his good friends. He loved most genres of music and had an encyclopedia of musical knowledge stored in his head. Chris composed his own music and wrote songs from his heart. He was blessed with a creative mind and he loved to share his interests and talents. Above and beyond these hobbies and passions was his love for his daughter, Victoria, and for our mother, his constant companion through all stages of his life. He will be forever remembered by his close-knit family, including his mother, Mary S. Reid and her companion Ronald Knapp, daughter, Victoria Reid; siblings, Sharon Lankford (Wayne), Rick Reid (Teresa), Shari Donoway (Todd Dudek), William Reid (Connie), Alisa Crockett (Blair) and Steven Reid (Sunny White); nieces and nephews, Mary Lawrence, Michelle Robertson, George Lawrence, Nick Sterling, Brian Sterling, Joanie Reid, Richard Reid, Danny Reid, Philip Donoway, Justin Reid, Laura Reid, Aimee Wiles, Chase Ashley, Taylor Calnon, and Ava Reid, special cousin and friend, Jason Layfield; and lifelong friends, Justin Hanrahan and Shauna Adams, and so many more friendships he cherished. Chris was preceded in death by his beloved father, Richard Edward Reid; aunt, Kay Reid, and nephew, Mikey Lawrence. His family honored his generous request to be an organ donor in the event of his passing. Chris was able to share the gift of life with a friend who desperately needed a kidney, as well as other folks needing the precious gift that organ donation provides. A Celebration of Life for Chris will take place at Noon on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. The visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 am to Noon.
