Charlotte Insley Willey, 96, of Mardela Springs, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 18, 1919 in Mardela Springs, a daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Insley. Upon graduation, Charlotte spent her career working in the garment industry. She was a very talented seamstress and milliner. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mardela Springs for 85 years. Charlotte's family and church were an extremely important part of her life. She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne Green (Tracy) of Mardela Springs, and Violet Hynson (David) of Georgetown; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great great-granddaughter; a brother, David Allen Insley of Mardela Springs; several nieces and nephews; and many special neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Davis Willley whom she married in 1936; and four sisters, Marie Watson, Gertrude Insley, Frances Muir, and Betty Littleton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Mardela Springs, 508 Main Street, Mardela Springs, Maryland. A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Bob Kampmeyer will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Mardela Memorial Cemetery.
