Charlotte M. Bailey, 94, received her Heavenly welcome on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at her home in Hebron. She was born January 21, 1928, in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Charles Lee and Nellie Frances (Hamilton) Munnerlyn. Charlotte worked several years as a waitress at the Lamp Post Restaurant in the Glen Burnie Mall. She was also a very loving homemaker and a wonderful cook. When it came to her family, she always aimed to please. Her strong will and never give up attitude served her well into her 90's. She loved playing bingo, reading, traveling to yard sales, people watching on the Boardwalk in Ocean City, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and her collection of stuffed animals. Charlotte truly loved the Lord and she will be remembered as a faithful prayer warrior. She will be missed as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. The family would like to give a special thanks to Cidney Gaines and Jackie White from Taxi Etc. who offered rides to and from hospital visits; Faye Banks, who was always there to help care for Charlotte and help with grocery shopping and everyday needs; and to the staff of Coastal Hospice for the comfort and care they provided to Charlotte and her family. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 21 years, Vernon W. Bailey, Sr; daughter, Deborah Lemon (James); son, George E. Albrecht, Jr.; step-children, David Dunbar, Vernon Bailey, Jr, James Grove (Beth), Wayne Bailey and Aimee Lloyd (Daniel); grandchildren, James Albrecht, Jason Albrecht, Daniel W. Gassaway, Jr. (Crystal), and Darryl L. Gassaway (Alana); and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-son, Eugene "Tink" H. Grove; and a grandson, Wayne Thomas Bailey, II. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:00 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a funeral service which begins at 1:00. The Reverend Danny Travers will officiate. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
