Charles M. Smedley, 90, of Seaford, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Methodist Manor House in Seaford, Delaware. Born January 26, 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late James and Mary Figgins Smedley. Mr. Smedley, a vetern of the Marine Corps, served in the Pacific campaign during World War II. He was an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance Company for many years. Most importantly, he will be remembered for his outgoing personality and wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean C. Smedley; a son, Kenneth C. Smedley (Nancy); a daughter, Joyce S. Ryan; two step-children, Joyce L. Stark (Robert); and Larry McCaddin (Holly); ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara M. Smedley; and son, Wayne M. Smedley. A memorial service will be held at Bethany United Methodist Church in Berlin, Maryland at a later date.
