Laurel- Charles R. Davis, Jr., 81, of Laurel, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital in Newark. He was born June 1, 1936 in Chester, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Charles R. Davis, Sr. and Gladys Jones Davis. Mr. Davis proudly served his country in the US Marines from 1954 to 1958. In 2005 he retired as a school teacher at Chester High School in Pennsylvania after a fulfilling career of 33 years. He also served as the Supervisor of Vocational Education at Temple University for several years. He was an active member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro. Charles was a long- time antique tractor enthusiast and treasurer for the First State Antique Tractor Club. He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Mae Iacono Davis; son, Charles R. Davis, III and wife, Connie of West Chester, PA; step-children, Harry Iacono and wife, Andrea of Milmont Park, PA and Terri Kerezsi and husband, Lou of Kennett Square, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sisters, Nancy McCauley of Georgia and Linda Benhardt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. At his request, there will be no formal services planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
