Charles Edward Cropper, age 67, of Delmar, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at his home in Delmar. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, a son of the late William Cropper and Margie Birch Cropper. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1956 to 1959. Charles retired after 33 years of service from Dresser Wayne Industries in Salisbury as a Pump Tester. He was a member of the Salvation Army. He loved playing the guitar and played in his own band years ago. He will be remembered as a man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara Faye Cropper; a brother, Frank Cropper and his wife, Elmyra of Salisbury; 3 sisters, Mary Shreves and her husband Ralph of Chincoteague, Elizabeth Moore and her husband Belvin of Cherton, VA and Margie Moore and her husband Chester of Cherton, VA; 4 step-children, Kenneth Jones and his wife Brenda of Delmar, Bill Jones and his wife Sandy of Salisbury, Earl Jones, Jr. of Laurel and Walter Jones of Fruitland; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Donald Jones, and a brother, Bill Cropper. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar. Pastor John Gore will officiate. Interment with military honors will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Nelson's Cemetery in New Church, VA. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Coastal Hospice, P.O.
