Obituary

Charles E. "Charlie" Brittingham, 76, of Salisbury, died Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. He was born November 17, 1938 in Delmar, a son of the late James W. and Edith E. (Bramble) Brittingham. After graduating from Wicomico High School, Charlie enlisted in the US Air Force, where he proudly served his country for four years. He retired as a mechanic for Alban Tractor Co. after a 30 year career. He was an avid reader and loved football, NASCAR and woodworking. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carole A. (Murphy) Brittingham; a daughter, Janice L. Serman; grandchildren, Charles W. Serman, Daniel T. Serman, Scott W. Brittingham, Jessica L. Brittingham, Alan J. Brittingham and Zachary T. Brittingham; daughter-in-law, Lisa Robinson; eleven great grandchildren; and brothers, Riley Brittingham and Henry Brittingham. He is also survived by an aunt, Mary Evelyn Wright and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darryl L. Brittingham. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. The Reverend Wayne Holland will officiate.
