Cecelia M. Massey, 72, of Delmar, passed away at her home on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was born June 9, 1950, in Salisbury, a daughter of the late George Willis Hudson and Nellie Burton. After graduation from Delmar High School with the class of 1968 she enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Delmar VFW Post 8276 Auxiliary. She loved helping people and had worked as a cashier at the Food Lion in Salisbury and Cheers Convenience Store in Delmar before her health began to fail. She is survived by sons, James "Jimmy" M. Gootee, Jr. of Crisfield and William Sherman Massey of Delmar; grandchildren, Megan Wallace, Morgan Bliley, Lexee Gootee, Emily Edwards, Bryston Sherman Massey and Ethan Sherman Massey; a sister, Barbara Gregg of Easton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Carter. Services will be private at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
