Laurel- Carole Ann Chandler, 71, of Smethport, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in Delaware, her home for the last 8 years. Carole was born on April 4, 1946 in Olean, NY, daughter of Raymond Pavone Sr. and Mary Katherine Pavone.Carole was a 1964 graduate of Olean High School. From there she went on to work as a machine operator for AVX. She was also well known for tending bar at several establishments in the Port Allegany and Smethport areas. In later years she went to work for Adelphia which is where she finished her working career before moving to Laurel, DE with her husband, to be with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Carole was known for her great sense of humor and her ability to have fun everywhere she went. She enjoyed dancing and loved her music. She was also known for her love of animals. Carole had several dogs throughout her life that all held a special place in her heart, to which her family often joked that, "the dogs have it better than we do". Carole is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Gary A. Chandler; her son, Eric Chandler and his wife, Heather Chandler, of Sharptown, MD; 4 grandchildren, Zachery, Makenzi, Brianna, and Cameron; a sister, Sandra Gardner of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, David Pavone of Tucson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Pavone, Jr. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of her son and daughter-in-law on Saturday, August 5, 2017. The Celebration will begin at 12:00 noon to share stories, memories, and laughter, as Carole wished that we would remember her. Friends and family are welcome to visit throughout the day at 504 Railway Street, Sharptown, MD.
